Question 1

How does Buzzedin identify the best rental deals in NYC?

Accepted Answer

Buzzedin computes a deal score for every listing by comparing its price against the market distribution for that neighborhood and bed count, using percentile data from tens of thousands of comparable apartments. Listings with a deal score of 55 or higher appear in the Best Deals map view, roughly the top decile of the newest inventory.

Question 2

What counts as a good rental deal in New York City?

Accepted Answer

A good deal is a listing priced meaningfully below comparable units, typically 10% or more under the neighborhood median for the same bed count. Buzzedin benchmarks each listing against p10, p25, p50, p75, and p90 neighborhood market percentiles and surfaces only those priced in the lower quartiles with adequate data quality.

Question 3

How often are new deals added to the map?

Accepted Answer

New listings are ingested continuously from StreetEasy, LeaseBreak, NYBits, and Reddit. The Best Deals map refreshes with the latest active inventory — active listings only; rented apartments drop off within hours of being marked unavailable.
